In 1930, the esteemed Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Dr. B L Kapur, laid the foundation of a Charitable Hospital in Lahore. Following the partition of India in 1947, Dr. Kapur’s commitment to healthcare led him to establish a Maternity Hospital in Ludhiana. In response to a call from the then Prime Minister in 1956, Dr. Kapur embarked on a project to establish a 200-bed hospital in Delhi, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru on 2nd January 1959.

By 1984, the hospital had evolved into Delhi’s premier multispecialty institute as it celebrated its Silver Jubilee. Offering an array of services including General Surgery, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dentistry, Pulmonology, Intensive Care, and Orthopedics, alongside mother & child care, the hospital was poised for expansion. Recognizing the need to elevate its services to tertiary care, the Trustees of the hospital partnered with Radiant Life Care Private Limited in the late 1990s to redevelop and manage the facility. Today, a modern state-of-the-art tertiary care hospital stands in place of the old establishment, emerging as one of the largest standalone private hospitals in the National Capital Region.

BLK Super Speciality Hospital, as it’s known now, boasts a fusion of cutting-edge technology and renowned professionals dedicated to delivering world-class healthcare. Spread across five acres of land with a capacity of 650 beds, it consistently ranks among the Top 10 Multi Super Specialty Hospitals in Delhi NCR. The outpatient services, spanning two floors with 80 consultation rooms, are strategically designed to facilitate seamless care across specialties, ensuring proximity to diagnostic services and specialized interventions.

The hospital’s critical care program is one of the region’s largest, with 125 beds in various intensive care units catering to Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, Paediatric, Neonatal, Neurological, and Organ Transplant care. Equipped with state-of-the-art patient monitoring devices, ventilators, and dedicated isolation rooms, each unit ensures accessibility and continuity of care. Moreover, round-the-clock services such as haemodialysis, CRRT, SLED, endoscopy, and bronchoscopy underscore BLK’s commitment to comprehensive patient care.
